| I gotta laugh, you've had this phone for a week and a half and you've already dropped it a few times? I think I've dropped my phone once and I've had it for 4 years. And it's been sand-free too. Phone manufacturers should hire you to test the durability of their phones. |
Hah, yeah. My phones take a beating. Before I had my treos, I had basically broken or lost every phone I've ever owned. Smashed external LCD (the internal one was okay, so it was still functional), dropped in the toilet (after pissing, no less, the phone still worked), and I've broken two flip phones in half at joint. I make sure to always have insurance on phones now.
I can't count how many times I've dropped my treos, even onto concrete, and those beasts kept on ticking. My most memorable drop was when I fell running down the stairs in my backyard on the way to the wedding rehearsal (if you remember Foo taking a picture of my skinned knee after the rehearsal), my phone flew out of my hip holster (which just just a weak magnetic closure), and onto the concrete. Both of my treos look very tired, scratches, dings, etc. I put my shit through hell and it almost always comes out alive.
| I do keep my phone in my pocket, which is another reason I haven't jumped in to the smartphones yet. They seem too big and fragile to be in a pocket. A holster is a deal-breaker for me. |
I lost my leather hoslter for my Treo about two months ago (I think I left it at a paintball field), and because I was planning on getting the Pre, I didn't buy a new one, and lemme tell you, I can't stand having my phone in my pocket. It feels so much more natural hanging on my hip. I feel the vibrations better when it rings, my pockets remain clear so I can fill them with more shit.
If the Eos is more of a successor of the Centro, that might not be a bad phone for "pocket" use, though tbh, the Pre is nice and small and is, imo, a fine candidate for a pocket phone. Treos, not so much, they're thick, heavy, and overall beastly.
