You can set up your Pre as a wifi hotspot, how sweet is that?

A few speedtest results

I'm now playing with installing some new homebrew apps, and I got the SDK, so I'll tinker with that a bit here and there. Since there's so little by way of official and unofficial apps yet less than 100 total, I'm thinking I'll make something small and fun, and that should take me no more than a week or so to churn out.

It shows up like a wifi access point?! That's fucking brilliant!!! And that speed; hard to argue with it!

The Pre is looking sweeter and sweeter. I'm still kind of sold on the iPhone though. I wish I knew someone that actually HAD a Pre so I could play with it and decide if I like it...

Is this speed on the computer through the Pre and the wireless? Or just through the Pre?

And because I am not a gamer what range of ping is good for games these days?

This is from the computer through the pre's wireless.

100 is a reasonanble, but high, ping. For FPS games, you want to get under 50, but 100 is at least playable.

Yes the high speed wireless dialup of the north. Got to love it. With the merger of Alltel and Verizon wireless up north at my place I get around about 800Kbs down and about 400Kbs up. Not bad since before the merger it was faster to use dial-up then my Verizon air card. Least this way to cant go over you limit.
